Hi, I've searched until im blue in the face and have found a lot of history with phoco and symbian OS but I am still a bit confused. I have read that I need to setup a serial connection but it would appear my 3230 can't use a serial connection. I have then read that I can create one using mrouter (provided from Nokia) but it would also appear that the new Nokia suite for my phone doesn't have mrouter any more?? I have also read that you can get partial functionality from using a dial-up connection but im at a loss how to make this work. The only options that I can find talks about using dial up to connect to the internet which is not quite what i want to do.
I can connect my phone to my PC using bluetooth and tranfer files using Nokia suite but when I run Phonetest, I get a pop-up bubble window (from my taskbar) telling me that I dont have a serial connection. I'd really love to get this software working but after 2 solid days of trying (during work of course) I'm still at a loss.
I am using a Bluesoleil bluetooth dongle on my PC.

The Bluesolei doesn't work because it has some strange "hum.. I'm going to switch the COM port now... would be fun" behaviour.
Basically, the DialUp is just another "serial port" which has to be used while the real serial port is blocked by mRouter.
Have a look at the GnuBox project (http://gnubox.dnsalias.org/gnubox/).
Some guy was getting PhoCo to work with it.

hmm. Done about another 2 days of solid reading and multiple testing and am still stuck. I have now switched over to wincomm bluetooth drivers and other applications seem to communicate with my 3230 fine. I can also use 'audio-gateway' and get the PC to act as a headset (although I cant dial or hangup this way), but no matter what I try I cant get Phococontrol to work with my phone. I have been focussing on Phonetest to start with but I either get 'port is occupied by another program' or a 'no response from port' error. I have un-installed my Nokia PC suite as I believe this was taking control. Still no luck..... Cheers.

Might be a firmware issue. I have since discovered that my phone has an old version of firmware and that the upgrade to the firmware actually fixes some bluetooth bugs with the phone. I hope to get my firmware upgraded next week and I'll let this list know if it helps.
