I think if you are having problems connecting and are in regular contact he can extend the trial. (but don't quote me on that).

well this is a shame. i was waiting to get phoco working untill after i installed everything in my car. i have a razer V3 and i beleive that phoco works with the razer and road runner. I have no problem buying a lisence from him once i get everything up and running. but thats a month away.

I hope theres a way to still purchase by then.

if hes still going to sell it but only with hardware. what possible hardware are we talking? i wouldnt be opposed to buying it with a bluetooth dongle that works with the software.

oh well Ill keep my eye on this post to see what happens. Maybe the creator of phoco would like to chime in and tell us what the deal is.

So is this why I have not gotten an email with my license? I downloaded the trial, then after 2 days of seeing the potential (working fine with my T610 Sony phone), I bought I license via the link on his site. No email yet. He sounds like a nice guy that is getting screwed by people cracking his software... I mean come on people, it's $26!!! He says he has 850+ downloads a week, and less than 1% are buying licenses. I'm sure if I email him he will provide my key, but now I am worried about future support. Although, since I already had the BT adapter, if PhoCo works for 6 months I'd be happy... LOL

Are there even that many carpc people? I wonder if firstly he hasn't accounted for people trialling/downloading multiple times and secondly all the people who don't really want it and download it simply because it is cracked?

I can understand what he is doing but I don't agree with the way he is doing it. I don't really think it is fair to give the whole car pc community a load of attitude when on the whole people are pretty supportive of him and it is a minority who arn't. And on the cracking side, really it is an ongoing battle rather than something that you can rule out entirely. I would just keep releasing new versions and change the protection method a bit each time and maybe change the support options around to release the burden. I'm sure a lot of people don't actually need much more than some quick answers to FAQs and the noobs will be drawn to integrators mainly.

But at the end of the day it is up to him what he wants to do. I think its a good program and worth paying for, its a shame that theres going to be a load of added hassle for people who are willing to buy it and those people who are pirating are going to carry on getting the hacked version. It seems to me that the legitimate users are losing out here.
