Glad to see you found it. I felt kinda odd leaving my car open during the meet that I made it too (made sure I had my wallet with me though...). Seeing those pictures made me wish I could've made it. I think for the next meet we should have a tour of each person's car. Start of with each person's car, then move to the next. That way I don't dell wierd about leavin' my car open.

I wish Verizon had a PDA phone that allowed b.luetooth... And I second that. PDA as a remote to the PC, Touchscreen as the main control. That way I could control it when standing next to the car.

I'm more looking for something that I can embed in the car.... don't even need cell capability. a master control panel that can be undocked to be used as a wireless remote.

I usually solid mount all of my remotes at arms length, makes using remotes much easier for me than a loose remote...

it's either this or I'm going with a custom panel using switches & girder.... don't know which is better... the girder route can't be used remotely & won't have the bling of a touchscreen interface, but it isn't a whole other operating system to crash & bug & configure &...????

    J,
Dexi has some crazy **** coming w/ GPRS where u can control the car through the cell phone.
If you prefer closer contact to the functions then maybe you should consider having the relays controled through the PC, since the program is written in Java this is multi-platform. PC, PDA, Cellphone.
Contact him and he'll give u the downlow.
    Later.

true, verizon has some limitations here and there with their bluetooth handsets, but they do have some PDA phones that are fully working with bluetooth, e.g. the audioVox PDA phone. Acutally the PDA/phone the Solara was using was from verizon.

You should try out a cheap used slim PDA from ebay such as the HP1945.

There are numerous software for universal IR remote control on (pocketgear.com), some of them already come with it default. Thats just to replicate the IR controls you might have e.g, radio head unit, lilliput e.t.c. Now for PC control, you can do using bluetooth to PC. So many choices out there for bt control, keyboard, winamp e.t.c pretty much remote desktop.(also all on pocketgear.com).
Then if you want to do vehicle control directly from PDA to car accessories, then you should try MFC(Multi- function controller) from connect2car.com
