Can't wait till this month's. Gonna be close for me though. Looks Like I'm gonna try and find RedGTI in Arkansas 18-19th, STL Hamfest on the 20th, then gotta go to Galveston for a couple days, then up to ChiTown. Damn, and I'm broke from the last trip and gas is going up again.

I bought my Kyocera KR1 today. So I should be broadcasting wireless at the meet. I still havent cleaned up my wiring mess lol so maybe when i install that router in the trunk Ill clean it up some. I also have IG3 installed, you guys can check that out too.

I totally would like to come to see some carPCs. I never seen real one and figured it would be nice inspiration

The funny thing is, we just did some biking in that Busse not too long ago, hehe.

not at all man. come on out. if you have some questions im sure someone there can answer them, or at least point ya in the right direction for whatever your thinking. Everyone is welcome. if you found this forum im guessing you plan on putting a carpc in. :P just take note of our cars and you should find us. not to mention the mp3car logos on pcfreaks and boomintracs cars

I've been reading and gethering information for pretty long time now but I just don't have the funds for everything. I first need to finish HID project first, though.

It just seems really hard to implement carputer into New Beetle since the dash is so weird. My best option would be to go with motorized flip screen like Lilliput and Xenarc. The hardest option, and of course nicest if done right, would be to relocate HVAC controls under the dash where they would be at really nice spot and put the screen instead of those and headunit. However, that is way out of my skills, which I don't have a lot, and I don't really want to make the car completely unmoddable in case I decide I want to trade-in.

Anyway, I can't wait till the meet and I will also be bringing a friend. Where exactly are you planning on meeting? Parking lot that goes from the Higgins?

somewhere on the main road probably half way in. thats basically where we were last time. itll be close to a bathroom. id say look for a bonfire(me using alot of lighter fluid on pcfreaks grill lmao) but he tells me hes bringing propane ive already melted the thing enough :P. easiest thing is to take note of our cars. my 06 Si, you can see it in my worklog. pcfreak has an intreped i beleive, boomintrac has a vibe, not sure which car gizmos taking this time. if its the mustang, i wanna hear machine guns dammit!!! lol.. .mp3dub has a nice older vw. if sciontc comes he has a scion lol i guess thats obvious. It would be nice to see other people show up, but we shall see. look for those cars though.
