    DSSC Problems, help requested, Anyone?

So, after a couple months of troubles, I finally got a DSSC from Dashwerks.com.
    Link:
    http://www.dashwerks.com/dw_dssc.php

    Link to online manual:
    http://www.dashwerks.com/documentati...l_rev1a-v4.pdf

My odessy was finally over! Just install and enjoy right?

    WRONG!

The unit appears to be defective. After all this time and multiple hassles with the guy, He sends me a bogus unit! ARRRGGHHHH!!!!

And Dashwerks (Chris) will not respond to any of my attempts to contact them.

So, I'm calling on the good people of Mp3car.com for help and techincal expertise. I'll give you the problem and hopefully someone will have had some experience with the unit or will know what to try.

    The problem:
When I wire the DSSC as the instructions say (check several times for correct hook up, even had someone else verify it), it does not function properly. The DSSc has three on board relays and one 40a off board relay. The 40a relay is supposed to energize and then the three on board relays are supposed to sequence (there are LED's on board to indicate proper functioning) according to the delays as set by adjustable pots. When Acc power is applied, the off board relay operates as per, and then the LED's indicate that the 3 ralys should be working, but htey do not.

Hopefully someone has some experience with this or can give me some input on how to proceed as Chris has gotten my money and seems to have decided his obligation must be fulfilled.

I really would like to get his working, otherwise, I'm just out near 100 bucks (50 for the DSSC, 45 for UPS's "F" you in the "A" brokerage fees!)

Thanks for any help you can offer.......

    Cheers

Ok. I'll try to help you. The external relay works per-means pefectly - am I right ? If yes, I think this unit could be work fine, but hadn't tuned by manufacturer I had read users manual(oh it's difficult wrote, is author a bear ? there is a road's pic on the first page ) , there described , that additional relay output LEDs INDICATES DELAY STATE of relays - NOT WORKING of them! Did you try to change delays for this additional relays ?
    If not-try next:
Turn each additional relay's dial to the leftmost position. Each dial should stop. Then try to start your controller - if relays dont make sound like "click" and leds don't turn off, then turn off the board and try to turn each dial to the rightmost position while it's not stopped. Try again !
In one of this position delays must be 0 sec and relays must click directly after startup and leds must not lights. Be carefull- don't brake dials while turning.
If this solution will not help to you, I'll think about another one but if it will help you - just tune delays by yourself and enjoy
also look at acpi led - relay can turn on after this led take turn off - i dont'know the logic of this device. - So try leftmost and rightmost positions of RA# dials)(additional relays) and wait for....something ....or 5 minutes .....in each described states
    Good luck
400Watt CarPC power supply for powerfull systems- thaks for Beta testers- it was perfect.

Remember - AMD Athlon XP (socket A) powers from 5v rail in most times !

I was thinking that, I turned the relays pots to see if they made a difference in the timing. Couldn't really tell.

I will give the hard over left and right a try though.

    Thanks for the advice.
