M2 ATX power supply wiring question... 3 terminals

Hi, I'm a total newbie so I have an easy question, and yes, I've already tried searching and reading schematics...

On the M2 ATX power supply board, there are 3 main power terminals. One is ground, one is direct battery, and other is ignition power.

My question is, Do I have to use both power terminals? (run a power line to battery which should be at least 8 gauge in order to use a 30-40 amp inline fuse) and run a fuse tap wire from ignition fuse block?. Plus the ground wire.

I'm asking because I want to know does the M2 ATX just need the ignition power to know when to power on computer? and If I have to use such a heavy guage wire for the battery line, then how would you use a heavy gauge line to the ignition wire?

I want my PC to power on when I start car and then I'll have the jumper setting to turn off computer a certain length of time after car is off...

    thanks for any input

yes the ignition line is for the remote sensing to turn on/off your computer with the start of your car. Just like an amp.

If you want the sdc functionality, then of course you need to connect it.

The ignition line draws almost no power, so you can use any guage wire.

since the ignition line draws little power, do you think there would be interference if you ran it in a flex tube with the speaker wire? Reason I am asking is cause I have the Streetwires Smartwire that has 9 wires inside and i am running 8 of them to the 4 channel amp and was wondering if I could make use of the last wire by tapping into the ignition 12v switched line?

Shouldn't be a problem. The RFI generated by the low current demans of the ignition sense should me minimal, if anything.
