Usb Power On/off Switch

Hey I don’t know is this has been brought up but is there such think as a USB on/off switch that you can have a pc in your trunk and run the USB up to the dash to have a manual switch on/off.

Are you talking about a USB switch to turn the PC on & off?

Yes but how will it do that if the pc is off

Just do what I did. On your motherboard, there are 2 wires that go from the power button on your case to your motherboard (should be labelled pwr or something). Attach in parallel to these two wires another two wires and run them to where you want your switch to be. When these two wires are shorted (get a push button switch?) your pc will turn on/off.

The power button just needs a short. the only reason you wouldnt want usb controlled would be to interface with hardware that turns your computer on and off. Other than that, keep it simple.
