Each module supplies up to 1.5A (1500mA).
1500mA for the one port with data pass through, or 1500mA shared for the two port, no data pass through.

Still confused. There are 3 orders of magnitude between those two current values.
1.5mA is not the same as 1500mA. 1.5A is the same as 1500mA.
Old Systems retired due to new car
New system at design/prototype stage on BeagleBoard.

hmm lol ah gotcha. Sorry... The latter. 1.5A / 1500mA

do i have to use this if i am using a power usb hub. I have power connected to the hub so it would give enough power to all my device. Only thing i am using it for is my external 2.5 usb hd. Just a simple question.

If the hub is working fine for you, then no.
This is mainly for devices that require more power than what a normal hub can supply.
Usually larger external hard drives, cell phone chargers, etc. OR if choose to use the option of the module, have a device always on.

    Hey Steve,

If I connect a non powered usb hub to your data capable usb module, will that usb hub posess the 1.5A power rating to effectively distribute to other connected usb accessories?

The module will supply the 1.5A, but it would depend on the circuitry of the non powered hub as to whether or not it would make full use of the power supplied. Most likely yes, but I wouldn't want to promise/guarantee that.

    Hope that helps...

Never did post the updated pics here. I ended up only making (other than for my personal use) the 1 port with data pass-through. Pics below. More info Here.

Hey guys. Let me resurrect this one...

I want to make sure I got this right.

Say I have a regular ol' USB hub (non powered) that I ran from my trunk pc to my glove box..
Normally, in order to power it for "heavier" devices, I would have to plug in an AC adapter into an inverter and power the hub.

    My question is...

with the device from this thread, can I connect it (w3bmaster's device) to the car's power then plug its USB cable into the hub... thus feeding power into the hub?
Therefore eliminating the need to use the hub's AC adapter?

Or am I way off base?

    Thanks for the help!
