forcing an opus to power off?

How can i force me opus 150w dc-dc power supply to turn off?
It's got the shutdown controller set for the default of ..20seconds?

sometimes the computer hangs or something and it doesn' want to turn off even though all accessory power is cut (wired a switch for the accessories).

how else can i do it? wire a switch so theres an opening in the ground?

    thanks.

You can switch either the power of the ground. I recommend getting a switch that will have no problems handling the potential load of the Opus 150w (13A or so). That could be a pretty bulky switch that could look ugly if out in plain sight.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

can you not wire a remote power switch to the pc? I did that and it works great if it hangs for some reason. Just hold the button in for 4 seconds like any normal PC and it shuts off. Then push to boot up again. Don't need much of a switch for that...and that means it prolly won't look as ugly

nst6563: i tried that..but for some reason it didnt work? im shutting off the accessories wire completely but it just holds and doesn't want to shut down...

ive also just wired in a reset switch which works..but the opus doesn't go into shutdown mode after the keys been take out if ive used the reset switch..i dont get it.

thanks for ur reply darquepervert...the reason mine didnt work was maybe the switch wasn't capable of 130A.. ? might have to look into this if i can't get the other option to work.

Did you follow the instructions for setting the jumpers when you installed your OPUS?
