Will a sproggy 2.8 power this?

    Well as the title says.
Dont wanna spend the money if it might not work.

    here is my specs.

micro-atx motherboard ecs with 1.2 duron
    128mb pc133
onboard video (but willl be adding a geforce soon)
    40gb 7200 wd hard drive.

i have a ac/dc power supply to handle my fans and power to my cd-rom or hard drive if needed.

i just need enough juice to push the board and my future agp vid card.

    thanks!!

I think you're pushing the limits of the 65-70W output of a sproggy. Ghz class chips are very power hungry. and 7200 RPM drives are too.

I'll come out and say no it won't work

That cpu and hard drive will be able to get enough power... for that matter.. the cpu alone might be starving for power.

yeah - agreed. If AMD's saying you need a 250w PSU for these things, then no, a sproggy won't cut it. You'll need a Keypower at least.

    Thanks guys for the response!

How bout an 800 duron i forgot i got one of those... probably still to much huh?
or any cpu recommendations.. ? its gotta be duron or athlon with this board?

So tell me this. What part of the pc is negatively affect (the buzzing sound) from using a inverter. Which part would be most important to have connected to the dc-dc power supply to get that nice fresh sound.

I have an inverter and its pushing my 400 watt ac/dc power supply in my case just waiting to catch the slack.

    thanks!

    Try a 400 mhz AMD or a celeron 566, or a Mini-ITX...

    Or any Socket 7 CPU...
