    m2 ATX 160 Watt - voltage irregular?

    Hey guys,

    I just took delivery of my 2007 G35 sedan today (i had a 2006 Chrysler 300C on 22's that i crashed 10/30/07 (SIGH!!!!).

I am doing a custom xbox installation which will use the factory 7" screen. I am going to run a 2gauge wire to the trunk and will use a power distro to feed my subwoofer amplifier and the M2 ATX.

My question is, with the bass hitting hard, i expect the voltage of the car to go up and down (ie. 13.0V to 14.1V) with the bass as it did on my 300C.

What happens to the M2 ATX. I know it has a voltage range it works on but will it react quickly enough to the spikes caused by my amp and keep the voltage stable for my xbox?

    Thanks guys!

    Temp setup:
    7" indash screen/Xbox running XBMC
    Carputer coming soon

You should be alright. I believe the safe range would be like 11.5V - 17V with 17V is really pushing the limit.

The first thing is going to depend on your battery (How good is it? How old is it? ect...) The next is how big is the amp? How good are your connections (ie. Ground and power?) Another thing that wouldn't hurt is to run a piece of 2G ground from the battery to the chassis.

Thanks for the response, its a new car 2007 Infiniti G35

I am planning on running 2 guage for now, but i am debating whether i want to add a sub amp or not, but at least i dont have to tear the car apart again..

But if i do, the amp will be around the 1000watts RMS range..
