Similar problems, other thoughts?
I have the HV version and I've noticed exactly the same thing as others have posted, the PSU works fine on bench and during boot in car, and does HARD off when the ignition is turned off.
I have a switch hooked up to the ignition line for the computer which is either "on" (+12v) or "ignition" (whatever state the ignition is in) with a center "off" position.
I've noticed that if I flip the switch to off before turning the ignition off, it works correctly. So the problem is something to do with the +12v line going from ~14v to ~12v (charging system / alternator turning off) AND ignition going from logic high (higher then ~10v) to logic low (0v) at the *exact* same time. I say exact because i've tried to flip the switch and ignition at the same time, and I've gotten close so I think that *any* amount of time delay from logic low to a sudden ~2v drop on the +line
I was more wondering if anyone has tried any other PSU's the M1, M3, or M4. With the M4 does anyone know if it controls power state through the USB connection (sweet) or is that just a fancy program for showing me the output voltage of the PSU (fairly dumb)?
