where do you connect the ignition cable? (the white one) for the m2-atx-hv

To the ACC from the Key Ignition.

ok that answers my frist question, heres my new second one. when i turn on my car, the hdd starts the spin up, fans turn on, but it only gets half way through the post and stops, but when i hit the reset, it boots perfect.

any suggestions?

Corrupt hibernation files?
Are you sure your not using 'sleep' instead of hibernation?
XP is notoriously bad with hibernation...
Vista hibernation (when activated) works flawlessly on my rig....

yes hibernation, unless the GUI is lying to me... :-P
which version of XP would be good with hibernation? i have XP home on my laptop and it works great.

whats the difference between the -hv and the other?

so is that a better thing to have or does it not matter?

what are all the wires for on the harness??
