I tried taking the cable off the motherboard power switch pins and shorting them with a screwdriver and another piece of metal and nothing happened. I also have a molex > 4pin 12v connector going to the motherboard. I think I should get the 4pin > 4pin cable they have available at the store here and go directly from the PSU to the mobo, but I'm not sure if that's the problem. I just really think it's the M2 because if I turn it on it doesn't turn on my monitor, which is just spliced into a molex connector -and it worked previously that way.

^ the monitor won't turn on until the MB commands the PS to turn on the accessories...It does this by shorting the green wire to one of the grounds. Try that, it should turn on all the rails...

Do you mean the green wire in the ATX power connector harness? I don't think I want to cut that out and short it for this.

You don't have to cut it out, just short it with an unfolded paperclip when it's unplugged from the computer! :)

Just google how to test a power supply to be absolutely sure. It's been a while but i'm almost positive it's the green one.

Ok, so it turns out it is not the power supply, must be the mobo or something on it...thanks joshuo!

well i hooked the ground up to the battery and it actually made it worse somehow. it HAS to be EMI... if i power down my computer and run the hdradio to my receiver its crystal clear even thought its using the same antenna

Well the last thing i can think of is to move the radio further away from the computer...

did that when i first got the radio.. its in the dash and my computers in the trunk. that DID improve the signal some. Perhaps its time for me to just drop dime and purchase another PSU to compare.
