This is what I'll do:

If I get 10 customers for a full system I will sell them at 239€ including payal fee and p&p. If I cannot reach that price I will cover the differens myself! Buyer is protected.

50€ has to be paid when the project is go. I will accept payment when there is ten of them.

powercontrol only..............99€
powercontrol with IBus......109€
GPS only.........................199€
Powercontrol with GPS.......219€
Full system......................239€

As you understand I am doing this for fun.

GPS and Powercontrol MKIII

MkIII is coming along fine! Major difference between this and prior version is that it now includes an IBus interface available to RR-IBus for instance. You BMW owners do not need an external IBus interface for the PC.

I have built four modules for me and three other people. One GPS only, one without IBus, and two complete systems.

To set it up I've made a PC application that is downloadable. (greyed out without a module)

I've got a few boring videos
Part 1
Part 2

All info is put on this link and below

There will be a video from the car when installed.
But for now this is what I've got.

I've got parts for one more unit or so if you PM me. I dare say that the design by now is very stable.

I have added a demo mode to my configuration application.

By selecting 'demo' instead of a COM port the app will act the same way as if a unit was connected to it.

In fact it is the same code running in demo mode as on the 8051. Only ported from C to C#.

I've added two new features.

A code for shuting down the PC even though ignition is on, and a code for aborting booting and go to on state.

By sending a message onto serial port when skin is loaded the LCD panel is turned on automatically. On my download page is a supersmall exe that does just that if it is added to startup meny under the start button (win XP)

Also I had a problem with the gyro. When the GPS comes out of reset the gyro voltage has to be at stable levels or it will not work properly. Workaround: use a MCP100 to hold GPS in reset until 3.0V is reached.

Screenrecording of Navigator 7 with Trimble Lassen Dead Reckoning GPS

Screenrecording from my PC running Navigator 7 with Trimble Lassen Dead Reckoning Module GPS+DR Video

Once calibrated properly the GPS works great!

Notes:
The Trimble module can be set to report position with 5Hz even though the satelite data is per definition 1Hz because of the dead reckoning. Unfortunately Navigator 7 (or 8) is not made to take advantage of this. Tell me if you know of any Navigation sw that does. Can it be done with the Navigator SDK?

The recording is made under worst possible conditions. The video starts with a 90 degree turn into the thunnel. Then a long left followed by long right and 180 degree right. I accelerate and brake farly hard to keep video short :-)

One observation is that the map is not accurate! The thunnel is drawn where there is free space on the map rather where it acctually is! You can see that the car takes a different path than the thunnel, but then they join up again!
