Thread: AC - 12v DC Converter For Testing

Hows it going? I too have a T/A. I love it. I am looking at the same problem here. I would like to run my carputer off a batter charger. I have the M2ATX. Did you say you were going through USB devices as if you were tearing them up by using a battery charger?

I think i'm going to try to hook up to my battery charger tonight to play with settings.
I am trying to get my wireless network at home to work in my car while its in the drive way or gargae. I recently moved my wireless router and still nothing. I need some more time while working on this, so I need a power supply from the house. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry bout the delayed response - busy weekend

Nope - think I was actually short on 5V power with the M2ATX, running touchscreen and wireless keyboard and indash DVD/CD player and GPS and wifi and HPTuners interface(for tuning LS1/4L60E ) with USB and sometimes the USB stuff would act weird..... seems better now with the DSATX(more 5V) but I am now actually running the M2ATX in the dash and using it to power the screen, indash DVD/CD, and eventually a USB port

M2ATX was fine in the house using a 12V battery charger but I did not hook everything up in there, mainly used it to test main stuff(board/CPU/PSU/DVD/etc) and load up the software

Having some wifi difficulties here lately(think card may be on its way out), but can usually pick up the signal okay in the driveway

And gotta say - bird lover here, still have the first car I bought - '67 Firebird(bought in 1980 - dating myself here)

So if I understand correctly here, I can bench test my carpc (IBM laptop, Carnetix 2140, Xenarc LCD, USB port) simply by using a power supply out of a desktop computer???
