Intel GLY2A and Opus 150 Watt Issue

    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a unit from Chris over at MCS. Great service btw! I have an issue with the GLY2A and hooking it up to an existing Opus. The unit came with an M2-ATX but since I had an old Opus hooked up from before that worked awesome I figure let me just hook that up and see if I can get it to post.

    Here's the steps I took:

    1. Installed my hard drive since it didn't have that (no problems)
    2. Hooked up my motherboard connector and the 4 pin connector (yellow and black) and the hard drive power.
    3. Get the power switch from the Opus and put it into the jumpers on the motherboard. This is the green and white cable coming from the Opus.
    4. Take it out to my car and plug in the power to the Opus. Great, my motherboard light is on so its getting power OK.
    5. Turn on the car and the CPU fan turns on for around 3 seconds and then stops spinning. The motherboard light continues on.

I've since brought the system back into my home. I can't quite remember if the Opus fan was running while the car was on but I'm going to assume so. I know the OPUS works great because it was powering another machine for a while.

What would signify on the Intel GLY2A that the fan is on for a few seconds? I couldn't find much help on the Intel website.

Is there anything else I could possibly try?

Also to clarify how I just wanted the OPUS to work, it looks like this:

OK well I take that back. Just tried doing it again and now this time no fans spin, nothing.

When I turn on the car though, nothing happens and the Opus blinks twice every few seconds. On the OPUS site it says:

2 Flashes The computer power up sequence failed
    Reasons:
    1. Check the wiring of the two wire power-switch cable from power supply connector J9 to power switch pins on the ATX motherboard. If connected properly check the polarity of the power switch pins. May be reversed.
    2. Check ATX mother board bios settings.
    3. Locked up motherboard or software crash of bug.
    4. Faulty DC-DC power supply.

Unfortunately I can't check #2 until its actually powered. I don't have a workbench to test this on. Blah!

    Did you reverse the wires?

Also, that board has a 4 pin power connector you have to fit in addition to the ATX power connection. It won't post until you hook it up.

Thanks guys, yeah I definitely have the 4 pin connector in. I don't think I could have reversed the polarity but I'll double check. I'm afraid it could just be the PSU and I have to hook up the M2-ATX that came with it to test.

Thanks everyone! Got it to work however I can't actually boot. I'd like to get into the BIOS on the GLY2A but I don't see any option. How exactly do you get into it? Just hit the Delete key or F8 is it?
