Down here in Southern Cal it goes over 100F easy. A/C is the best way to keep your PSU and carpc nice and cool.
Is it over 60? My harddisks are rated 60-70C, operating...I doubt that in the trunk is anywhere over 50-55 TOPS.
Is that too much for the DSATX? It is so frustrating, it's not even summertime.
By the way, there is a 120 Antec Tricool at MAX connected to the DSATX, blowing directly into it.
Any solutions? Is there a way to glue some heatsink somewhere in the board?
This is my first carputer, and we're not even in the Summer here in California, but today we had 100F+/39C outside.
Edit: I put a thermometer inside the case today, around 6PM (It didn't work from 11AM to 5PM): @ 103F outside (East Bay Area, SF, CA) it worked until 119F. With the air temperature at 126F+, it stopped working. The HD are rated 60-70C operating temperature, is the DSATX much lower? I know it comes conservatively set up from the factory, but has anybody tried something different? How do the guys from, say Phoenix, AZ, etc. cope with that? Can it work at 158F (70C?) reliably? Heatsinks can help? Independently powered fans?
Help! I do not want to lose my carputer come next Summer with 115F outside day in/day out...
Edit 2: Forgot to say, I got the 4 blinks code - overheat protection.
Edit 3: I did search for DSATX overheating/ DSATX max temp, only old posts, different processor that load the 5v rail...not my case, I hope (X2 4600 EE 65W only).

My carpc worklog
Oh man...mine was working so well in the trunk...only tested up to 86F-95F...this week has been terrible. Moving inside the cabin, not really an option for me, at least not for now. I got to know:
1. Until when is it reliable to operate the DSATX via Brainstem? 70C?
2. How to chill it better? Heatsinks? Fans from other power sources?
I really thought a 12v 120mm fan should be enough...
