    Disable shutdown/hibernation on CNX 2140

I have a question regarding my new carPC setup.
I have just purchased my second 2140. ( A moron spilled beer on it) Probably why I am doing this all over and replacing my carPC with a laptop and moving it from under my seat.
Does anybody know if it is possible to diasable the "shutdown" on the 2140?
The reason seems quite obvious. The laptop has a battery wich will hold for aprox 2 hours when idle.
I know I can set shutdown delay to 1 hour, but then it will also be powering my other stuff connected to it.

What I would like, is for the 2140 to cut power to my system when ignition is of. The laptop will handle hibernation when battery turns low.
I`m planning on using primary out to 18.5V, secondary out to 12V and adding the CNX-P5V for 5V
My computer uses 18.5V. I need 12V and 5V regulated for my HQCT-i (RDS radio) I have tested it with 12V directly from my battery and had some terrible interference. In addition I need 5V for powering a USB-hub and a slot-in CD/DVD player
If not I am thinking the 2140 is the incorrect PSU for my system.

Hopefully someone can give me a clarifying answer

Don't connect the laptop to the 2140. Just use a regular car adaptor for it (the kind that connects to the power socket/cigarette lighter) and make sure it is connected to a switched power source. Connect your other gizmos to the 2140.

Not that familiar with the 2140 but maybe you can set the primary to 12v and the secondary to 5v and not have to buy a cnx-p5v?

You mean dont connect the 2140 to the laptop with the USB-cable?
I see that it is an option. Dont know if I will loose the ability to shutdown the 2140 if the car battery turns low. This sure is a good thing.
And I will also not be able to monitor power consumption, wich is main reason for using the 2140.
I just thought it was possible to disable the shutdown by settings.

Have also posted in the carnetix forums. But it seems there are not much activity there.

Regarding powering it all up. I have thick, fused cable from power on battery to a power block. This is already in place. Then I hook it all up. 2140, screen, amp and so on.

I can only have 2 outputs on the 2140. I will need 18.5v for the laptop. In addition I need regulated 12v and 5v for my radio. Then the cheapest option would be purchasing a CNX 5V and mount inside the 2140.
I will then have 3 outputs as I desire

No, I mean don't power the laptop from the 2140. Power the laptop from a separate cigarette lighter adaptor.

The 2140 should shut itself down if the battery goes low.

    Thanks for your reply.
I got the answer from carnetix-forum.
    Here is what they said:

"If you don't connect the ACPI wires then the P2140 will cut off power when your ignition is off.
The only way the P2140 will shut your laptop down is if you have the ACPI (power button) wires connected.
So, wire the P2140 to your battery as you normally would (the two reds to +, the blacks to - and the Yellow to Accessory). On the output side wire the primary and secondary output only and isolate the rest of the wires. This will provide power on all rails when you turn your can ON and it will cut power to all rails when you turn your car OFF."

Posting the reply here if anyone have the same question.
