Isn't it better that it is all in one place so you can avoid it than spread around so you trip over it all the time.

I wonder if you could use a stupid panel to concentrate all that stupid into an accumulator to power a vehicle. Stupidity happens at night as well as during the day, so you wouldn't have to worry about charging during the day only.

yes it could. These people are just jealous that someone so young is attempting something and can pull it off.

Sez you! What do you think lights up the moon at night? The SUN. In fact, the moon is a reflector of the sun and therefore concentrates its rays at night otherwise it would be DARK. Using broken solar panels allows you to concentrate it to normal daytime levels.

However what I do understand, and obviously you don't, is the basic laws of electricty, since hooking up source panels in parallel will double the AMPERAGE, while voltage remains constant. You will need to hook them up in SERIES if you want double voltage while amperage remains constant. I suggest you take a look at Ohm's law before ruining all your runined panels - Electronics 101
Okay, you got me there. Too much wine and a quick post don't add up. Aus319 - hook them up in series, not parallel, 'nkay?

Why don't you try attempting Science before posting in a Solar thread?
Hah! Right back at you! If your sponsors were car companies, then do you think it was in their interests to find out that internal combustion is inefficient!? Puh-leeze!

The saying "once bitten, twice shy" holds no merit here, does it.
    My opinion is my own.

Use your mother's/sisters's/your own/neighbour's hairdryer and heat up the plastic and form it around the metal frame.

I would go to Home Depot and look at the cost of acrylic though. It isnt cheap. Most of your $61 budget will go right there. Metal isnt cheap either.

So your grandiose plans about a bubble go-kart on a the budget of a dinner for 1 at a mid-range restaurant is not going to happen.

Perhaps go to scrap yards and get stuff, or go to manufacturer's and ask for scrap material, or dumpster dive. I got a lot of good oak and mahogany wood scrap from dumpster diving. I am not sure of the legailities of it, but they pay to haul it away, you are just hauling away some stuff for free. And don't go stealing things from construction sites. If it is not in a dumpster, it is not yours.

Do you have any trash bags at your house? You can make your own ABS plastic from garbage bags. If you parents have any of those good, strong contractor style (usually green or black) or leaf bags that say "outdoor use" on them, you're in luck.

Get a blow dryer and first cover a form that is the shape you want the body to be with wax paper so the plastic won't stick. Then, layer the bags on top of that. Then, set the dryer on high heat and melt the bags to fuse them to each other. 10 or 15 layers is best for strength.

For additional strength (and power) coat the surface with the blended solar sludge you are making from busted solar cells. Wire them (in series!) to the rest of the cells and then the batteries You'll have a hand-crafted body in no time.

Or you can use garbage bags and fuse them together in some gasoline... You dont smoke do you?
