Ok, I'll bite.
An alternative method is to use the spin of the earth. If you think that the earth is spinning, when you jump in the air the earth will rotate under you and you'll land in a different spot, so provided you want to go in a particular direction you can make the vehicle do tiny jumps and it might move along.
Now if you think that sailing boats can actually sail into the wind using something called tacking, it should be possible to rotate with the spin of the earth using a similiar technique. By aligning the vehicle in the direction you want to go (like a sail) it will move forwards.
