i was also thinking of the 12V i have now. what could i power with that?
( i was also thinking of making a shed in my back yard with christmas lights(light but little power) and that as my workshop?

with solar panels on the rouph of the shed of course

(i will also keep my gokart in there then and just switch the (solar connector) to the kart in the rain(it will still get some in)

Think about it. Your R/C car has batteries and a speed control in it. Why? The speed controller allows you to vary the amount of power going to the motor. Otherwise the motor would run at full power all the time.

Solar on top AND (if I'm not mistaken) batteries in the middle?

I would love to be running a solar panel Colorado and battery system but the wife says they are ugly and doesn't want to spend $15,000! There are many solar sites and companies out there. Most States require a State approved system as do many local utilities that offer power buyback and incentives. State and the local utility incentives in Colorado are quite friendly.
