    JVC powers down when crankin

Heya, saw this topic a few times here, but got a question which is a bit different.

Today i am having 2 audisons installed with a Phoenix gold 1 farad capacitator.

Normally when i put my carkey in and turn it (but not start it) my JVC KDSH99R powers on, but when i start my car it goes dead i think it is caused by the battery level dropping temporary.

This is my question. Do you think it is possible to wire my main unit to the powercap, (if it is charged as soon as i insert my car key) and that way don't get the power off / hang time?

If this is the case then i might consider installing a pc into my car with navigation etc etc. Thanx in advance.

(ps. excuse my english, it's not my native language)

It's not the battery, the radio and other accessories are switched off when you start the car. That's the way they are wired up.
I would go ahead and try using the capacitor as you mentioned it.

    Welcome aboard!!

I don't know about your car mp3hombre, but mine keeps the radio and other accessories turned on when cranking.
xces, I don't see why you can't wire it up that way but I have read about them not working very well. Some one here I'm sure has tried it and can tell you if it works though.

it depends on the car, VW's factory deck stays on during crank. Majority of the cars out there don't. It's the way the ignition switch is wired. If you're a relay and diode wiz, you can whip up something up to keep the deck stay on during crank. If the factory deck stays on during crank and the new deck doesnt, then you need a tank circuit on the power line.
