Laptop Auto Adapter splice???

hey everybody, i got another problem here.
I ordered a auto adapter for my car, but it seems a made a mistake and got the wrong one.

the one i should have gotten is http://www.getpartsonline.com/pa628a.html

the one i have the end doesnt fit my laptop and id like to know if i could just splice the of the the car adapter with one of my wall chargers and it would work?

dam seems like no one can help me...i guess ill try selling it 1st and if i cant get it sold then ill try the splice

1 - We might be able to help if we knew the model of laptop.

2 - Understand that it's very possible that it's more than just the type of connector that differentiates those to power supplies. They could supply different voltages.

3 - Have you tried to contact the vendor to see if they will exchange for the correct piece if you pay the $5 difference.

well i live in jamaica so shipping it back is a big issue, the laptop is Hp Pavilion ZE5468cl. The output on my wall charger is 18.5V, 4.9A 90W

and the output on the car adapter is 19.5V 4.62A 90W

The car adapter you have would output a higher voltage and less amperage than is required.
It may or may not work, but I wouldn't want to risk it with my hardware.
