Power inverter question

Hi,
Sorry if it's been posted before,but would a 200W(400W MAX) be enough to power the basic computer system?

depends

read the FAQ
youll need to know the requirements for each rail. for your setup
for example your 200w might be 180w on the 12v (15A) and 15w on the 5v (3A) with 5w on the 3.3v

i forgot to mention that it's not a power supply,it's a power inverter

then that depends on you power supply for 2 things

1. that the inverter can supply enough juice for the power supply

2. that yu powersupply can work with a modifed sine wave

for instance i have a 300w inverter in the car it can power my external HDs but cant power my laptop due to the sne wave. so if i wan to do anything away from home with the laptop i need to plug into the ciggy lighter or use my petrol genny
