Hello, id first like to say thank you all for your most informative threads. Please bare with me and excuse my ignorance, i am a computer geek, but i am treading in new territory when it comes to carpc's. I wish to run a AMD athlon XP 2800+ processor, Nvidia FX 5200 video, 250gb sata hard drive, usb bluetooth dongle, and later on wifi and gps/sat radio. I am having trouble figuring out how to power this system. I was looking into the Carnetix CNX-P1900 which supplies 140 watts. Is this enough for my setup? If not, would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction? The reason i liked this unit, other than that its the most power for the least money, is that it has the auto startup/shutdown as well as a bunch of other features that i think will be helpful. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks in advance =)
From my understanding, something like the Carnetix is designed for a computer like the Mac Mini, or a laptop. It sounds like you're piecing together an ATX compliant system. Meaning you could use one of the Mx PSUs. The M2 may put out enough power, but that depends on your mobo. You could also look into some of the others, like the Opus, or the DSATX.
if it would not me too much trouble, would you please point in the direction of a specific model that you believe will be more than adequate? and how do you mean depends on my mobo? is there anything in particular i should be looking for based on the mobo?

It looks like http://store.mp3car.com/M4_ATX_250W_..._p/pwr-031.htm is the best bang for the buck, 250w for only $100 as apposed to http://store.mp3car.com/Mp3Car_DSATX_p/pwr-023.htm for $160 for 220w. Is the M4 a good choice for my setup? i really appreciate all your input, thanks in advance

Personally, I have a DSATX and am very pleased.
from the research i have done on the M4, it seems that most if not all of the problems that were being suffered where in the beginning stages of release with the 1.0 firmware, but after the 1.3 was posted, doesn't seem to be any more posts. Now i realize that the pleasure of the carpc is as much the struggle of getting everything to work as it is the end result, the only thing is as a college student, im on a very tight budget, but seeing as how i commute 60 miles each way to school every day, and of course me being the geek that i am, its worth having =) I just dont want to get stuck paying 100 dollars on a piece of equipment that turns out to be unsuitable. From my understanding, the M4 will be perfect for my needs, but it seems too good to be true, which is why im doubting my instincts. Again i truly do appreciate all your help.
