Thread: Sproggy and Epia M

I get the same exact behaviour with my Sproggy 2.7 and Epia M9000.

The processor fan and keyboard initialize on power up but the computer never posts.

I removed the memory and disabled all onboard peripherals and get the same result. With a real atx power supply it posts with some error beeps.

The Sproggy powers my P3-933 w/ 512MB RAM just fine. The Epia is suppose to be a low power board, so I find it hard to believe the sproggy is not providing enough power.

I wonder if the power good and ps-on logic lines are causing the problem. The atx spec says that the power supply should not provide any voltage until the ps-on line is held low. Maybe it is confused when it gets power before it tells the power supply it wants it?

I believe the sproggy meets these requirements? Can someone confirm?

I finished my sproggy 2.8 months ago and ran tests making sure all the voltages were correct. I would ground pin 14 and the supply would start, all volatage output was great.

I decided tonight was teh night to connect to the itx board. When I connected to my epia 800 mhz board and tried to power on, I got nothing. The sproggy didn't turn on (no voltage output at all), no fan spin, no boot. I connected the board to a regular PSU and it works fine.

I modded the 2.8 to include the new 2N3904 and 10K resistor and still nothing on the board. I tested the sproggy without connecting to the board and it starts up fine all voltages correct. But nothing when connected to the ITX board.

What is going on?

Still trying to figure this one out.... any ideas? Give me stuff to try. This is what stands between me and a working setup.
