    Hibernation Resume Related issues

Ok I'm posting to see if I can get some suggestions from some of you folks.

    My set up:
1)Eee pc 701 - powered by one of those cheaper ebay power supplies made for it.

    2) Lilliput 701 - powered by using the egg adapter that comes with it

    3) 2-4port hubs (1 in glove, 1 in trunk) - powered by a/c adapter into a mini dc-ac converter (it's a palm size one good for 175w w/1usb port - so i estimated only max 90W load to keep it safe).

    4) Hub 1 (in trunk) - (a)BT dongle, (b)externally powered 2.5" 80ghdd (has a y-usb cable to supply supplementary power -plugged into ac-dc plug into the dc-ac converter), (c)andrea mic adaptor, (d)usb wifi adapter.

    5) Hub 2 (in glove box) - (a)Wireless mini keyboard receiver, (b)usb touchpad, (c)touchscreen and (d)usb to dash for plugging in miscellaneous items.

    6) Holux M-1000 BT GPS Receiver powered by usb port on dc-ac converter.

    7) Wiring - I go from battery to trunk +12V into 2 relays. Relay 1 uses ignition to get switched power for my Eee and the screen. So cars off - screen power is cut and Eee stops charging. Relay 2 uses the usb power from the Eee motherboard to get switched power for my dc-ac converter. So until the Eee switches off the dc-ac convert continues to get power. This way my hubs, hdd etc. stay powered until the Eee shuts down.

8)Other notes: I use a momentary switch in the front of the car to turn on the Eee and shutcontrol program to shut down. I just changed my car battery this summer, for some reason my system will only boot up if the car is running - almost like the car battery is too weak to supply the voltage needed. This started happening about 2 months after the battery was in. I got my alternator and battery checked last week and both are functioning as they should. My battery is holding 12.5V when the car is not running (not sure if that's normal, but should be, it think).

    Problem:
I've wired my set up this way so that I can hibernate properly but about 90% of the time when I come out of hibernation I get a windows delayed write error referencing my 80g hdd. I can also tell that my BT dongle disconnected as it's grayed out. If I wait a bit everything remounts and is ok, then I can start Centrafuse. This is killing my start up time. It seems to be consistent with the hubs losing power but they are wired to stay up until the Eee shuts down and I can tell that this is happening as the hub lights remain on until the Eee is shut down. At this point what I'm trying to figure out is why if everything seems to be powered am I getting this result. I think it's one of 2 problems - either 1. my car battery is faulty and not supplying enough voltage for the full hibernation time - so while my hubs are still powered, they my not have enough. OR 2. I have usb-hiberation software related issues and may need to use Devcon to remedy. I estimate that my set up uses max about 65W in total (22W for Eee, 12W for Lilli, 10W per hub, 3W hdd + 18W for inefficiency - heat etc) - so very low power.

This set up is based on hours of tweaking, rewiring and troubleshooting, but this one problem really has me stumped. My gut feel is telling me that changing the battery would just be a temporary solution and Devcon looks it it may take some figuring out on my end (note I'm not a programmer). So before I go any further just want some input.

And please, before you respond, please make sure your read what I said properly. I tried to be as detail as possible to get quality responses.

Hibernation is notorious for causing USB problems. Devcon is easier to use than you think. I managed to get set it up for my pc after reading the thread in here:
    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/faq-...de-devcon.html

Give the write up a once-over. If you already have, give it a second look. It was intimidating to me before I actually did it.

Yeah, I understand. Take all that you can get and go from there. Good luck with it all.

Why are you running the HDD off the hub? Is this your primary or backup HDD?
Either way, I think the PC is resuming before your HDD has a chance to initialize. Try connecting it straight to the PC itself, and not thru a hub. That MIGHT help...

Trust me I've tried that. Doesn't make a difference. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

    No one else?

Maybe the hub needs to turn on before the PC starts up. Can you delay the Ebay PSU a few more seconds on startup?
