Can I use Option 3 of the this FAQ to...

    Power Supply FAQ

Can I use option 3 of the FAQ above to "fool" the OPUS 150 to power on my artigo PC that already has and internal 60W PSU?

Reason is that I really want to keep the artigo easily removable for updates, etc. In short, I want to connect the barrel plug of the 60W PSU of the artigo to the OPUS and the pwr header pins of the artigo to the OPUS pwr header pins.

I'm thinking that I can just use my old OPUS from my last system to provide the clean, constant 12V to the PC, monitor, and 5V for the Beffy POL, as well as, handle the startup/shutdown procedures of the PC.

    TIA!

Well, the answer is yes, but the solution isn't ideal since the OPUS is "fooled" to being "on" all the time. It will certainly drain the battery.

I tried to put the jumpers on relays activated by the IGN line and that portion worked. It's the IGN off that was problem since the PSU immediately powers off not giving the PC time to properly shutdown.

I suppose I could put a cap or something, but that's more time I want to spend salvaging the OPUS to get it to work properly.

    Here's one for the archives...
