Anyone know? Will it give it enough power? And will the shutdown and startup controllers work with this motherboard?
Thanks
I have heard that the dell motherboards have a different connection on the mobo?? If it helps I have a dell dimesion pIII 600mhz pc. Will the opus work with my dell? Also I heard that usb devices will still drain power even when you power down the pc. Is this true? Is there any other things that will drain my battery?
Thanks

Also I'll give you the rest of the computer specs so you can see how much power I'll be drawing. I have a 600mhz pIII, 384mb pc800 ecc ram, 8 or 12x dvd, 12x burner(think I might take this out because I dont think I'll be burning cds while driving..haha), 32mb video card, sb live audio and a 7200rpm 20gb hard drive.
Thanks

Id be powerful enough, but as i said in the other thread, dell often uses custom power configurations. if you want to crack the case, you could look and seeif you have any extra connectors to the motherboard from the psu.

Alright Ill check it out. Tell you in a minute.
<edit>
Ok I have a 6 wire connector on my Motherboard with a 6 wire plug with 3 black wires and 3 blue wires and then I have a 20 wire connector on my mother board with a 19 wire plug with 7 black wires, 1 gray wire, 1 white wire, 6 red wires, 1 orange wire, 1 purple wire, 1 yellow wire and 1 blue wire and one empty space. I dont know if the colors matter so I put them anyway.

The 20 wire connector is a standard atx connector, the opus has that. Not sure about the 6 wire connector. Could you tell a little more about that. Is it a bundle of small wires that goes from the board to the front panel? if so its for your hdd light, power light reset, and pwr button. But that would be 8 wires. if it goes to the ps im not sure what it is.

No I have the 20 wire connecter and 6 wire connector both coming for the power supply to the Motherboard. Does the opus have the 6 wire connecter to the mobo? And where can I find the name of who made my motherboard?
Thanks

its dells custom power setup that they're so fond of. the blue lines are all +5vdc if memory serves (which it might not), so you might be able to rig something together, but the opus wont work out of the box with your dell. And you wont be able to find out who made your board, as it was made for dell 9to their specs) by a first tier manufacturer like asusOriginally posted by Michael Szilagyi

Does anyone know where I could find a thread or something to help me mod it so the opus works? I searched the forum but I couldn't find anything.
Thanks

you might be able to find something if you search for the spec for a dell powersupply. try searching computer forums or just the web with google.
