Yep, once I get some real progress I'll throw up a thread in the Worklogs section.

For now, here she is with winter rims:

The power supply should still trigger the PC to turn off when you turn the ignition off. You shouldn't need any special wiring at all for this.

Actually now that I think about it some more what you should do is use a relay to apply power to the turn on wire, when the doors are unlocked, or when the ignition is turned on, that way when you lock the doors as you get out, the PC would shut down.

    Heres what I would do.

First stick a diode on the power source for the light.
Send that over to a relay, but on the relay, set it so that once the light powers it on the relay uses the source that it switched on to continue applying power to itself, so that it only needs power for a few milliseconds and then holds itself on. Then as far as shutdown goes, wire another relay before that one which kills power when the car shuts off.

    Auto Start with Keyless entry

Ford uses a tiered power up/down system in most of their vehicles. My truck(01 Superduty) has a power on state that comes on when the vehicle is unlocked. This remains on for about 10 minutes after the truck is shut down. I will be taping this system to cut and apply power to the startup/shutdown controller on the vehicle battery side. This will provide power normally when I start the truck, but will cut power to the controller to prevent battery drain if the computer hangs.

You can do a google search to locate the wire diagrams.

Note: you will need to use a relay to control the power. The relay is controlled from the vehicle's tiered power up/down system. PM me if you would like the schematic.

I think you need 2 relays to make something like that work (latch)
