Huh?? You realize that most cars kills power to the radio and some electronics when you fire up the starter motor to protect them from feedback?? Why didn't you connect the M2 directly to the ACC wire at the ignition switch?

That may actually be a legitimate concern if that is the case. This is the first time I've heard about this (though it makes sense that it could be the case), and I'd actually seen everywhere I'd looked (mostly on here and 8thcivic.com forums) recommending to connect there. I'll try looking around for the ACC wire at the ignition switch tonight and see how that goes. Thanks!

That was totally it! It now works perfectly after I spliced it into the orange accessory wire in the ignition harness!

    Thanks Wungun!

I'm guessing that the issue with the Asus Xonar is still valid though, right?
From my readings on this card I've learn that it requires a separate power supply using a 4-pin molex normally used for HDDs and CDROMs.
Perhaps the M2-ATX simply doesn't cut it power-wise for this soundcard?
I know that its a rather heavy consumer on electricity when compared to other products... Especially the new Essence STX with its crazy on-board AMPs...

The Xonar D2 doesn't have a power connector for it it pulls power from the pci connector.

My car has is wired like this

    Batt------4ga wire------Distrib block--------Amp power line and M2 12+
Amp Gnd line and M2 Gnd------------Distrib block----------Car chassis
    Car IGN wire--------diode->|--------M2 IGN

I believe that it is the White IGN line i am hooked into. And the Orange wire is my dimmer line.

I have a new Opus 360V on order hoping that will make my Xonar work and fix this problem.

    edit: fixed the text art

I ran my Xonar's on two seperate mainboards, and the M4 couldn't power it...
The Opus didn't even break a sweat.

Yeah, the Xonar D2's don't need external power...

Ya i just got an OPUS DCX6.360 from UPS today hooked it up and all of my electrical problems went away.... but created a new problem

the opus is about 2ce the width and about an inch longer in length. how does everyone else have this mounted in a case. or do you have an external case for it?

Will the M4 power a single Xonar?
