you should be fine, and I don't think it would fry it anyway, it just would either shut down or your system would crash alot
Let's say I decide to go with an Opus DC-DC Transformer like this one http://www.opussolutions.com/150watt.html
How much stuff could I hook up to it before I'd overload it?
I'm planning on around 1GHZ AMD, a 5200rpm HDD, DVD_CD-RW, a PCI soundcard, a 4 USB port PCI card, and the PCI card that runs my LCD Panel. I also plan on putting in a USB IR Remote reciever, a USB Cam, and a USB GPS system, along with finally, a USB Cirque Cruise Cat touchpad.
That's a CPU, HDD, DVD, 3 PCI Card's, and LCD that pulls 10W, 4 USB devices, and a PS-2 mouse.
Can it handle it all?
I'm guessing the wattage used up by the USB devices is small, but I don't wanna toast the Xformer.
I coudl always run 2 Xformers parallel but then again for 300 bucks, I could have that Sine-Wave generated UPS & an el cheapo 400W Inverter.
What do you guys think the best bet is?
