Did you use that PSU to power the M2ATX?
You can use that for troubleshooting before you install in the car. Instructions are here.
Yes, J6 is the amp turn-on.now one of the problems i have is i couldnt figure what switches on the computer. i know the (j6) is the wire that got dissconnected but isnt that just the amp turn on????? my computer just randomly went to shut down mode when this happaned...
However, J6 getting disconnected won't cause the M2 to stop powering the PC.
J8 is the lead that goes to the motherboard to simulate a press of the power button.
You said it yourself: J6 got disconnected. Wire the remote lead for your amp back to J6 when you reinstall. If everything is working, the amp should turn on.my amp does not turn on is another issue. but i when i was un-doing the remote line the wire touched the remote line and the power line on accident ( its tight in the trunk and im not a small person) and i saw my amp turn on and light up.... so basically i need a way to turn my amp on now.
If not, wire the amp to any ignition-controlled line. OEM radio harness? Cigarette lighter? Spare location in the fuse box?
How did the computer turn on previously? Did you have J8 wired to the power switch headers on the motherboard?so as you can see there are a few questions here....or should i say issues.
another thing is the computer!!!!! i know its getting power but! what turns it on since there is no switch? and i know the (j6) connector is not really needed well that is what im reading off line. I have also checked all my ground wires.
Get a passenger that you enjoy conversing with or enjoy the scenery.its been 5 days now and i guess im just getting really frustrated... i even pulled all my seats out again out of the car and re ran all the wires.... and got even more mad when i scratched some of my paint taking out the rear seat one of the metal brackets scrapped the side of the doorwell paint...sigh...
I guess im going on the group subaru drive today well in 5 hours... with no music to listen to.. or movie to watch.. or gps ..... what do you do when your bored in a car?
