Thread: Additional M2-ATX plug

Check a local electronics shop, not the local Best Buy or other shop that sells TVs, computers, stereos and consumper electronic devices. You need a place that sells electronic components.

Mouser, Digikey, Maplin are online shops that would likely have what you want, as well.

Or, just open the case and make a harness to connect directly to the spades on the M2.

I'm pretty certain that connector is part of the case, not the M2ATX.
Yes, you could bypass that plug and wire to the spade connectors on the M2, but you'd lose the convenience of the quick-disconnect

Digi-Key has the parts you're looking for.

Losing the quick-disconnect wouldn't seem to be that big a problem for a test rig, but if Digi-Key has the right plug that makes things easier.

I think that's a Molex Mini-Fit Jr. The plug part # is 0039012046. The receptacle part # is 0039012040.

My local electronics shop has a blister pack with both of these parts and the terminals for just under $3.00. Don't have a part number for that.

jpinkerton: Thanks, that is the part I'm looking for, might see if there is somewhere in Australia that has it, seems a bit silly to order such a small part from the US, but if that's how it has to go down then so be it.

The quick connect / disconnect is pretty important and sort of the whole idea as my case is under the passenger seat, making it a bit of a pain to get to.

I have a slightly different problem now, in attempting to troubleshoot my software issue (windows BSOD'ed and now wont resume as the file is corrupt) I have to insert a windows CD, and hit the any key to boot from CD. So when I go to plug in my PS/2 keyboard to do this, it wont get past the post screen, as I get that "keyboard error, press f1 ..." error.

My USB keyboard will get past there no problems (I think that's cos it was plugged in when the error happened, and therefore what it is expecting), but being USB, it doesn't register when i press any key to boot from CD. So I get the same corrupt file problem and I'm back to square one!

I'm guessing I have to pull the CMOS battery out to let it reset and then try again with the PS/2 keyboard, but that involves taking the seat out to get at the case, blah blah blah, something I would like to avoid. Anyone know a way?

can you do a shutdown with the USB keyboard? Then when you restart with the PS/2 attached it should work properly.
