    360 + pc monitor in the boot, questions obviously arise....

    hey guys

    looking at running my 360 in the boot of my car on a 23" screen, which would be under the classification of pc monitor

    mostly looking into the power side of things

    i have found that jaycar produce a 400w modified sine wave inverter and was wondering, how would the 460 fair under such power? would it be too little to run, or will i scrape through?

    also, the screen is rated at 50w max, would a 150 watt inverter cover this well enough? also, is there any downside to using an inverter with a monitor? ive heard there can be distortion/lines?

    any help is much appreciated

    there are different versions of th 360 all pulling different amounts of power... anything from 180w to over 300w full load. what version do you have?

    i would run the monitor at least on a real dc-dc power supply, monitors are fairly sensitive things. you can run the 360 on a sine wave inverter, but my god i can hear the WHOOOSHHHH WIIINNEEE noises right now.

    would running both off a 600w pure sine wave inverter e a better option?

    also mine appears to be rated at 175w (as per the brick)

    i would assume an inverter is your only option, and yes one big one is better then two small ones.... a 400w RMS rated one should be enough though, 600w is not needed.

    im currently looking over a site and the jump is between a 380 watt and a 600 watt, both pure sine, no 400, would 380 suffice?
