    Opus on the way

Well; after replacing nearly every other component in the system; I order a 150 watt opus to replace my M2-ATX.

I am getting occasional BSOD; I show some disk errors in the log; but I have tried multiple disks. Latest is Seagate EE25; and even that is exhibiting issues.

    Wish me luck.....

Keep us updated I think this is my problem, I have been getting BSOD and sometimes on bootup disk errors. I think its my power supply but rather not spend the money of thats not the problem.

    Question for both of you:

How is your hard drive mounted? What is it mounted to? Did you try to insulate the HDD from shock with pads or bungees or springs or whatever else?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

I'm on the fence about getting another PSU, I'd probably go for the Opus 120 because sometimes I have... odd errors. Let us know how this works out.

I don't have my HDD mounted at all. There's opportunity for it to move around slightly, but not much, I don't think it does though. As for shock absorption, none. I do have Winamp set to cache the entire song to memory though so I think that would reduce the chances of heads crashing on the drive.

If the hard drive isn't mounted to anything, it is moving around.
If you're getting disc errors, skipping music and other issues related to the HDD, then your HDD is probably shifting around as you drive, causing the issues.

Caching music isn't going to help you at all if there's a head crash while WinAmp is in the process of caching the song.

The fact is that Windoze tends to access the HDD often, whether it's system files, paging files, driver files, software attempting to update, screen saver kicking in, etc.
I your HDD is floating freely in your vehicle install, you are simply asking for trouble.

What system are you using? I've recently been reading that the M2 doesn't have enough power on the 5 volt rail for the Intel 945.

If it isn't a power issue, then wiring is my bet. Did you use the same wiring or wire harnesses when swapping out all of the components?

    -HDD cables
    -Power cables
    -USB cables or hubs

Did it BSOD when you run a stripped down system with effectively only the computer in the mix (no external devices or hubs)? You don't have a PCI card, do you?

Other possibility is interference from electronics such as the screen or power supply.

    Here's a update on mine..

First my harddrive is mounted in my mo-co-so case which is mounted solid in my car, I don't think my hard drive is the problem.

The other day I redid my power, ground and ing. wires, I got rid of the power plugs that come with the case and now use those barrel plug crip on connectors (a male and female one on each wire so I can take the computer out easy.)

No far it is working great, no more hard drive errors or blue screens of death.

Crossing my fingers that its good to go.

Oh God; I got mine from mocoso (can't recommend); but I've replaced nearly every part. I have the power supply and just need a good solution to mount it now.

How are people mounting these? (OPus 120)

This power supply looks much beefier than the m2atx. Lots of heavy duties inducters and far less reliance of caps.

The mocoso includes vibration dampeners. I have a segate ee2.5; was mounted flat. Will do a vertical mount this time.
