    About Mastero's shutdown controller

I followed the instructions to a "t" and everything went exactly as it said in the instructions. I double checked with a multimeter. I have also verified and reverified the correct pin on the ATX connector. The shutdown controller (I think) performs as it should.

The problem is this... I cannot get the computer to start. I connected a switch to the correct jumpers on the motherboard but nada. It worked fine in the house, however I didn't enable the "restart after power loss" function in the BIOS. What should I do here. I REALLY don't want to uninstall everything and bring it BACK into the house.

ok so you saying you cant get the comp to kickon in the car right answer these question:

    a) Does the LED on the SDC glow when you connect the blue wire to 12v .?

    b) If yes and still you dont have the comp comming on then press the kill switch (yellow and white wire) once while the blue has 12v and your comp shall kick on .

    Let me know

Well my worst fears were realized. I did exactly as you said and all I got was a pop and some smoke. I had wondered about a short beacuse when you lightly jiggled the wires I thought my untrained ears were hearing the relay kick in and out. Now it seems that was the case. Something shorted out and now I have to go back in and rewire some stuff to find out what components were smoked as well.

    This could be very costly

The shutdown controller. What component of it did I'm not sure. Just a pop and some smoke. Now the controller won't come on no matter what.

I attached everything as per the directions. Everything worked like it said in the instructions EXCEPT for the fact that when I lightly moved the wires, I could hear a small click or popping. I now know that was a bad connection. Anyways, when I hit the switch like you said... pop! and some smoke.

Nothing should pop ... i wonder what did and why ... !
