    Voltage Regulator + Diode help

    I want to wired either car battery or cigarette lighter line to a voltage regulator to charge my mp3 devices like an ipod. Can anyone comment with any suggestions. thanks

    The resistor and diodes is not necesary. Install electrolitic capacitor 10uF at the inputo fo 7805, 1 uF and a 100nF at the output.
