opus dcx6 360W, Help!

i have an opus dcx6 360W DC-DC vehicle converter. I've put my carputer together and tested everything with a regular PC power supply before removing said power supply. I then installed the DC converter and hooked everything up accordingly. I have the carputer set up on a bench with my dc power supply that puts out 12.5V and capable of 24amps.

The Dcx6 jumper settings are as follows:

Startup voltage is set to lowest as possible (no jumper)
Im operating is IGNITION MODE (no jumper)
2 pin "P/S ON" wire from dcx6 to motherboard
All yellow input wires are connected to 12v
all black ground wires connected to ground
RED Acc. (ignition) wire is connected to 12v

when i turn the power on and wait 10 sec (for delay) the motherboard fans come on for 2 seconds then shut off. it goes back to standby/idle mode. I noticed the dcx6 is by default in ATX mode.

for the hell of it i put a jumper on the pins that switch it to AT mode. now when i power up the unit I get a solid LED indicator and the fans stay on the mobo "appearing" to work correctly. except i hear no power on beep from BIOS and I have no video display. what am i doing wrong? what is a mini-itx motherboard considered to be for power requirements, AT or ATX? I've got something wrong...

Does the PC power up when using a standard ATX power supply?

What are your hardware specs for the PC?

yes it does boot up with a regular computer power supply. I am using a Zotac miniITX Geforce 8200 wifi. athlon 3.2Ghz 65W, 2GB ram, 500gb 7200rpm Laptop HDD.

i know you have the jumpers set to the lowest re: startup/shutdown voltage, but have you tried it with the car running vs. not?

no, i dont even have it in the car yet. its on a bench power supply thats more than adequate voltage/amperage. but im not even getting a low power indicator from the led. the led just shows standby/idle mode. 1 flash every 5 seconds. it appears to power on for a few seconds then goes back to standby. no error or failure code...just back to idle/standby.

hmmm...it should have no problems powering what you have. I'd give the Opus guys a call...they're smart and helpful.

this ^ almost sounds like you do not have the 4 pin procesor power connector connected. or the wrong memory.

also, i don't see any rsponse to if the motherboard will power up with a normal power supply--maybe try that to make sure that it is a opus power supply issue? edit: nevermind...

yea, that was my first assumption about the 4 pin. proc power. but it is properly seated and of course only fits one way. there is another 4 pin on the opus that isnt being used and doesnt fit the proc power connector. i guess thats for added video card power? my desktop uses this but i havent compared the connectors. nevertheless it doesn't fit anything on the mobo. but yea this all worked with a standard pc power supply before hand.

From what I can remember I had some similar issues when I first installed my DCX6-360... I contacted Opus and found that they had a Firmware update and the manual on the site is still for the older versions. I have firmware ver. 30 and they sent me an updated manual along with a .doc file with some other changes.

If you hold the PSU with the Input power on your left and the output on your right, look at the center of the board then up and left a tad and there is a yellow box with a handwritten number on it... that the firmware version. Also, if your jumper blocks don"t line up the same as in the manual you also know its a different version. On my second jumper block I have numbers 7-12 using up all the pins. In the manual its only shows 7-10 and it excludes the outer 2 pins.
