Having problems powering VIA M10000.

Powers up perfectly using standard PSU. None of the in car power options are working with the device. Is there something about this Mobo I'm missing? My car PC is complete and ready for show if I can figure out how to power it in the car. The M3 is not getting the job done(the M2 also failed, but the M3 at least showed signs of life). The M3 tries to power up, send the thump signal(green light blinks), the fans spin for a second, and then nothing.Nothing is connected to the board but the RAM and the fans. All lights are green, so I know its not the unit.. Maybe the M4 will do it(but I am afraid of waisting more money with no results). I think I must be hooking this thing up wrong. Really wish someone else who has this board will chime in and help!!!

I had this symptom with an M4 one time. Turned out that the ACPI was being held in the 'on' position by the M4. Identical to pushing and holding the power button on your desktop continuously. It will start up but shut down quickly afterwards.

Try this - remove the ACPI line. Add power to the M3, then briefly short the ACPI pins with a paper clip or a momentary contact switch like a desktop PC power switch. If it starts and runs without issue, you have the same problem I did. Solution was to replace it.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't do this. I'm not responsible if you fry your M10000.

I other words remove the thump cable, then jump start it by jumping the pins(like I do with my standard PSU), when the unit is flashing informing me its sending the thump signal......right?
