    PSU vs Heat

I have an Opus 360w PSU. It will not fit in my current CarPC chassis (See why HERE). So I am building a seperate chassis for the Opus using a project box. My question is; since the project box will completely enclose the PSU, will I need any holes for heat mangement? The only thing in the project box will be the Opus PSU, so no other heat generators. Will it get hot enough by itself to shut down?

    Thanks
    Mal

based on my experince with my dsatx i would give a resounding yes!

i was in the same situation as urself, i put my psu in a project box , drilled some ventalation holes and (prepare youself for the dumb part...) mounted it upside down in trunk of my car.

on hot summer days the pc would shut off for no apprent reason! . then i reaslized that it was due the psu overheating in the project box.
i then installed a cpu fan to suck the air out of the box.
the air it sucked out was preety warm to the touch.

Yep. Enclosed even with vent holes I still think you'll have issues. I have the same exact one, I don't have heat issues with the PSU itself, but only because it's open-air mounted. Definitely going to want to give it some at least minor active venting if enclosed.
