hi all, i gotta buy a power supply quick fast, tomo im thinking.
it dawned on me the other day that whatever dc-dc psu i bought would have to power the screen as well?
i have an old liliput 809gl and a via epia en15000g itx board.
the 809gl doesnt seem to work on the 13.5v my nimh battery is putting out.
i would like to have used the nimh but it looks like ill be running off the car battery.
so is this how its done, buy a psu capable of powering both of them?
while im at it, i was looking at old dynamo regulators and alt regulators, has anyone found one of these thatll put out a shedload of amps at 12v? they all seem to put out 13.5

Most of the P/S available do have a 12v output on them to power the screen. Theoretically the screen should be able to be powered right off the 12v vehicle supply and filtered through the included power "egg" but most choose to use the P/S output. The other benefit is it then starts and stops with the control of the P/S/Originally Posted by Redd

And all alternators etc will usually put out ~13.5V to 14.5V - that's the voltage required for a 12V battery system.

i ended up missing an M1 ATX that went on ebay for 8 pounds!!! i was waffling to my mum on the phone with the auction open in front of me. gah!
