i just bought one of these babies

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856119047

i got this because of the space issues and it fits perfecty where i need it to.

but i completely forgot about the power supply.
    turn on and shut down...

it comes with an ac adapter for wall outlet.

i looked through here but could not find what im looking for

    The unit requires 19vDC.
Look for a DC-DC PSU that outputs 19vDC.

The Carnetix units have a startup/shutdown controller.
It has a wire that is on an ignition-controlled power line. When that line goes hot (because you turned the key to the ON position), that tells the PSU to send a pulse to the motherboard, which is the equivalent of pressing the power button.
The same thing happens when you turn the ignition off.

    oh ok, gots it.

i thought it just shuts it down hard with no saving of anything lol.

i think this one the button is hardwired

on a sidenote, its fn amazing how much power these new pcs pack in such a small enclosure.
my first pc back in 99 was P2 400mhz with whooping 64mb of ram and 4mb video card, and the whole 20 gigs of hard drive i was like daaaam all that empty space i dont think i ever fill it up, and then i started downloading garbage off the internets.

now my HTC HD2 has about 3 4 times power and space of that first PC.

You need to crack that puppy open and find out.
Worst-case scenario is the power button is soldered onto a circuit board and you'll have to solder the lead from the Carnetix to that location.
