Desktop in truck questions and PW-200-M question.
Hey guys, newbie here and I want to throw a computer into my s10!
I was wondering if a PW-200-M supply would be able to power an old-ish emachines computer-AMD athlon cpu, 512mb ram, and a 80gb hd (Probably upgrade to a larger one). Plane is to gut it from the case and make a new box for it, and put it under the seat.
Then put a 7" touchscreen where my radio is mounted, and then a headphone jack to rca cable hookup with a splitter (Making 2 sets of 2 rcas) to my subs amp, and my mids/high amp.
But I need to know if that supply will be sufficient enough or if I would need a larger one (On a budget, this will be a slow build as I have the money to do so.)
If I need a larger supply, What would be best? (Cheapest and work) Either a supply or regulator or? I would prefer not to use an ac/dc converter because the stock supply is large and I need more space then i have already lol.
Another question with you car puter guys, When you have a pc setup, Do you have a head unit or do you use your pc as one like i plan? Also do you keep the normal cd/dvd drive the pc uses? (To upload new software play dvds/music etc?)
Any help would be great!
