    DC-DC switch mode question

    Hi Guys, first post here!

I am working on a rather ambitious project and I have a question about DC - DC switch mode power supplies.

Roughly, what frequency does the charging MOSFET run at?

    No worries, thanks for that.

If the input voltage varies from 14-18 volts (DC), will that effect the output voltage (assuming I want a stable 5 volts at the output.

The reason for this, is I want to use solar as the input for my project. So, the input voltage may vary slightly.
