Need powering advise please......suggestions.

Ok so here's what I'm planning to install.

Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 with the Media Tab (HDMI Port Out)
Gefen HDMI to Composite Scaler
Gefen Coax digital to Toslink converter
I'm processing sound through an Audison Bit One (which needs analog for set up, and I can go to digital or optical after that for sound. I'm hearing there are problems with the coax digital input on the Bit One so I'm choosing toslink through the converter.)

This is all going into my car along with my audio system. I'm still researching the voltage requirements for the Galaxy charger, I've heard 19v, 5v and 2v (big differences). So that's remained to be seen.

The two Gefen Modules are both 5v DC power inputs. Same barrel connector sizes.

I need something that will power these units.

I was looking at the M2-ATX, and even made a little diagram for the wiring:

Not sure if this is correct or not.

I'm also open to other suggestions. If you all need more info let me know I'll be happy to give you what info I have.

This is really my last hang up to getting this going. I need to figure out this power situation so I can move forward! Bought the tablet today and will be ready to buy the rest of the components this weekend. Thanks for any help!

I did a little test tonight with the wall charge and a DMM and came up with a 5v output.

So that nullifies the 19v thought. So essentially I have 3 - 5v products to power up. Hope that helps. Could I take the 5v out on the M2 and run it to a relay and power all 3 pieces that way or does that make it jump to 12v instead of 5v?

Anyone?

Why not just use a DC PSU that outputs 5v instead of jury-rigging an ATX PSU to tap only the 5v rail?

Thank you. Do you have a personal preference between the two? IF so why? They basically do the same thing right? Is there a reason there is a 25.00 difference between the two? Also, could I hook up more than one device to it, or would I basically need one POL per device? Sorry for so many questions! Thanks for the link!

that POL device is good for 15watts, or about 3A of current. you'll need to check all the device requirements to see if they can fit on a single power adapter.

Ok, I'll do that. I just wasn't sure if I put 3 5v devices on, if it still put out 5v or if it would then demand 15v (5x3=15). Or does it not work that way?

I'll look at my devices now and see. I think I'm going to make a change due to money issues.

No, it's 3 lots at 5V with whatever current they each have - eg 1A each means 3 x 5V x 1A - 15W.

Ok so according to the specs online that I found for the three devices, here's the following:

Galaxy Tablet - 2.5amps for charging
Gefen Composite Scaler - "up to 7.5 amps max"
Gefen Coax to Toslink converter - 500mA is all I found.

SO keeping that in mind, if I went with the one POV then it would be about 10 to 12 total amps. I'd say that's ok, but I'm not overly experienced with it. Would I be safer with maybe running the output to a relay and then powering the 3 devices from the relay? Or would that change it to a 12v?

Maybe what I'll do is just get two, run one for the tablet and it will be isolated from anything else, then I'll run the other devices off of a second one. DO you guys think, or will one be enough?
