    inverter issue

alright, i've bene using my laptop in the car and i couldn't figure out why it was going real slow. i start to mess around wiht a few things and i decide to unplug the inverter from the laptop and let it run off the battery. when i did this, everything worked fine and the laptop was up to speed, i hook it back up to the inverter and it slows up again. I have a 90 W inverter for a laptop, i thought that this would be plenty of juice for it. what can i do to solve this prob other than get another power supply.

find out how many watts your laptop uses.. maybe it uses over 90W so like your cpu is slowing down due to that

I would use a filter or a small battery between the inverter and the laptop, the slowliness could be because of interferences....

has anyone had this issue before? i've been searching and can't find an answer. i have the inverter plugged into the cigaretter lighter outlet, then the computer's power cable into the inverter. the inverter has plenty of power for the laptop, i can't figure out how to fix this problem.

c'mon guys, i know someone knows what to do in this situation. it shouldln't be cause of lack of power. could it be my cigarette slot, the inverter, etc??? it runs fine when it's running off its own battery though.

Maybe the wiring to the cig.adaptor is bad and it's getting a trickle of power .. I don't know... test to see what kind of power is at the adaptor..

Get a DC-DC supply for your laptop. Inverters put out horrible AC. I put a O scope on mine one time after it burned up a nicad charger I was using to charge up some AA batteries and the waveform looked about as much sinusoidal as I look like denise richards.
