    Car PC Power Help

    Hey Guys

I'm setting up a pc in my car.

    Here is specs

    micro atx p4 Motherboard
    p4 1.7ghz
    40 gb hard drive
    dvd rom
    512mb Sd ram
    ati 7200 radeon video card
Sound blaster audigy 2 sound card
    xenard 700tsv touchscreen monitor

I'll be using this system to watch dvd's, play mp3's and running a gps nav system.

    MY MAIN PROBLEM is power!!!!!!

I'm not to familiar with powering a pc in a car.

What i need to know is how much watts do you think this setup will take and what PSU will be best for this setup.

I don't want to use an inverter so i guess i have no other option than to go with a dc-dc.

And also i'm using a Micro Atx board with a Micro Atx case. I need something that will fit in my case.

    PLease help me out guys.

Look into getting an Opus Power supply, do a search of the forums and you will find plenty of information about it,

but will it fit a micro atx

But will it fit A MICRO ATX Case. Because from my understanding, opus will only fit a atx case.

Is it ok to leave the PSU out of the case???

I suppose it depends on the size of the case, I honestly don't know the dimensions of the opus off hand, as I do not use one. but I have heard they are the easiest solution. Look at some of the cases at www.casetronic.com

it probably would be fine to leave the power supply outside the case, as long as you do not have any tension on any of the wires,

The 90w OPUS is like 3 inches at its widest. The 150w cant be much bigger , it should fit. Looking at the measurments, I will be able to fit it in a 1 u case, it will fit.
