I myself dont use opus. I got nothing againts them either.
Just accept the fact that theres something wrong with opus. You cant blame those poeple getting annoyed after the opus blows their motherboard...put yourself in their position see how you like it, maybe the tone of your voice will change then.
You just cant blame poeple here for getting put off with opus either, thats just a typical public behavior, accept it. A companys image is probably the most important things and thats one thing they cant afford to make mistake on.
I dont know who you are but I get the impression you like idea of forever defending your own thinking in a childish way. You seems very concern about opus positions, its not your problems...they will fix it for you. The best thing you can do is help them out and warn other poeple here of the problems.
You seems to be more stressed out than Kris himself...why?
By the way...since you are so proud of your company, how good they are and such, whats the name of it may I ask? website?
I got nothing against you, but still I think you are a very funny, ammusing guy
Someone emailed me a smart *** remark a while back about the psu because I recommended it. They are now saying it sucks. I say it is a consumer product and things can happen. OK fine but they did ask opus about it and he fix it quickly. So I was just mad for a bit that people would bash him over and over again. However if he would not have fixed the problem then sure bash the company.
I guess maybe the one thing that I missed about the whole deal is that just because I may not worry if I have broken parts because of whatever reason others may not have that kind of extra money for an m/b. I take things like that for granted. I mean the price of a board is not much to ***** about then again some may think so.
I do understand people been mad but I saw some pretty nasty things said about opus and I did not like it. The reason it is so personal to me is because opus is the reason for my companyís existence and profits. With out the standards opus follows I would not be able to sell to certain customers. I tried a couple of other psu and the did not qualify so I could sell to certain companies.
I guess the people use other psu do not need the high of standard. I guess that why the complain abut the opus price.
I just know the if opus decides not to stay open I would be in a pickle.
As for as my company. I would never post my name on the net are ever sell across the net for many reasons. First larger companies will rip you off and some people on the net will talk bad about it if just 1 or 2 are bad. We also do not need advertisement because we sell directly to large factory and retailers. I will say one thing. We have a complete 12v package for all industries, car audio, limo, busses, boats, bar rooms clubs, jukeboxes, taxi cabs, etc. You will come across it one day I am sure. We are trying to have a certain net worth be fore we go public and web base so all of our patents will be in place allowing us to fight of the companies who will try to rip us off. I hope you understand that.
Ya, I was a little funny the other day but I was just being crazy.
If I see any thing helpful for you project guys I will let you know. I the mean time donít be so hard on any small company especially if they say there sorry and fix the problem.

jcjc555 - You werent even aware of, let alone willing to admit the possibility of a problem to begin with.
So unless you ordred, revieced and tested multiple units of the DCX3. Checking every Gate, every logic corcuit, every voltage with an O-Scope. You are in NO position whatsoever to state the unit is up to par.
I spoke to kris, he was very helpfull, and very appologetic. We did make arangemnts for some sort of compensation - When its all said an done : I am still out over 200 dolars in parts.
Kris did not have to extend the offer he did, and for that im greatfull, but there are still serious doubts in my mind about the product.
It is the right of this board, its members, and the entire mobile computing industry to discuss these issues, and hopefully find solutions to the problems we encounter.
Although I agree with gizmomkr that this is the right place to discuss these issues, comments like those from none or others to stay away from Opus were uncalled for.
Hell, none doesn't even own an Opus. What gives him the right to make such a remark. Richie and jcjc did the right thing by challenging it. My 150W unit has worked flawlessly and there are many other proud owners of the Opus PSU who have not spoke up.
The 90W seems to have an issues that Kris didn't catch before shipping. This is very unfortunate, and it sucks for those who fried their components because of it. But now that Kris knows about the problem, he can offer a solution.
From my prior dealings with Kris, he is a very nice guy and very willing to help. I'm sure he won't leave those of you affected hanging out to dry.
Ok now I understand your position jcjc5555. Its nice to hear you being peaceful now.
Shame on you opus user, non managed to calm him down
Im out of this thread...peace man
I am glad that all the kum-bay-yas have been said.
However I still don't understand what this means...

A good number of the known owners of the 90w units on this board had had motherboards ruined by this malfunction. It is to Opus's credit that they came up with a solution so fast, I was not expecting a resolution so quickly. And by then jcjc had just ****ed me off and my later comments were aimed there.
It is ridiculous to think that Opus should not be held to the same standard that any other company is held to just because some people here happen to know the name of the person behind it. When a product is defective, especially if it damages other property, as many people as possible should be made aware. Now that there is a solution, this product once again looks to be a good choice.
Go buy Opus. rahrahrah whatever

Their 150W unit works just fine and has been around for quite some time.
